Our September estate auction features several Ansel Adams silver gelatin prints, owned by Dennis Curtin, who worked for book publisher Little and Brown of Boston, producing several projects with Adams. Curtin’s photographs in this auction were gifts given to him by Ansel Adams. Also on sale is a spectacular circa 1930s diamond, emerald, and onyx platinum bracelet, a Qi Baishi book of drawings, and an extensive selection of European furniture from a Southern Connecticut collection. There are also several pieces of 19th-century English Regency furniture from a Boston, Massachusetts, collection, over 100 pieces of Chinese porcelain, and a group of ethnic artifacts from a world traveler.

This auction features a spectacular collection of furniture, silver, and furnishings from a Boston penthouse, a jewelry collection from a Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts estate, and fur coats from a Massachusetts collection. The standout lot is a set of Jean E. Puiforcat, France, .925 silver flatware. The service for thirty-six, to be sold in 3 sets of 12, in the “Cannes” pattern, designed in 1928, has a gilt finish and bears the marks: E-penknife-P, Minerva hallmark, Puiforcat France. Also, from Puiforcat, France, is a “Foret Blanche” dinner set.
