A Beverly auction house is offering a unique opportunity for fans of legendary businesswoman and television personality Martha Stewart to own a piece of her legacy.
Props from Stewart’s years spent baking cakes, creating floral arrangements and shaking new cocktails on the set of her hit television series will be auctioned off by Kaminski Auctions in Beverly this weekend.
As one of the most influential and successful business women and authors in the world, Stewart has shaped the tastes and decor of households around the globe. Her career spans the worlds of publishing and broadcasting, and she has authored over 90 books on cooking, decorating and entertaining.
For those interested in bidding or viewing the items up for auction, here’s what you need to know:
What’s up for bid?
From tables and chairs to planters, vases and assorted decor, the auction features around 5,000 items, many of them grouped in lots. Among them are pieces of memorabilia signed by Stewart, including oven mitts, a toboggan, a rolling pin, cutting boards, a stool and a swivel chair. Several sets of cookbooks from Stewart’s library will also be up for bid during the auction.
Can I browse the inventory?
Yes. All the items that will be auctioned off are listed in an online catalogue that can be accessed on Kaminski Auctions website, www.kaminskiauctions.com. For those wanting a closer look at what they might want to bid on, Kamiski Auctions is holding a preview of the items that are up for bid all this week leading up to the auction. Preview times are Sunday through Friday, April 29-May 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and day of sale beginning at 8 a.m. at the auction gallery, 117 Elliott St., Beverly.
How do I bid?
The auction will take place on Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Kaminski Auction gallery, 117 Elliott St., Beverly. There will be in person, phone and online bidding through KaminskiLIVE. Those interested in bidding online need to register in advance of the sale and can do so on the Kaminski Auctions website, www.kaminskiauctions.com.
Where will the proceeds go?
A portion of the proceeds from this auction will benefit the Martha Stewart Center For Living (MSCL) at Mount Sinai Hospital which serves to promote and facilitate access to health care resources for older adults and to enhance the public perception of aging.
